A STOURPORT couple have finally tied the knot after having their wedding day cancelled four times due to the Covid crisis.

Jackie and Robert Woodall said it was "well worth the wait" after having to constantly having to rearrange their wedding day.

The couple, who live at Stourport Caravan Park, married at Stourport Manor on Saturday (August 14) in front of 85 guests.

They initially booked their wedding for May 2020 at the manor, and due to the lockdown restrictions, had to cancel until November that year.

As the pandemic escalated and the country entered lockdown for a second time, the couple then had to rearrange their big day for May this year.

Due to restrictions limiting the size of weddings in May, the couple then moved their date to July. But they were left disappointed yet again.

At one point, a frustrated Jackie jokingly told her husband-to-be “Just forget about it, I’ve had enough” as their wedding kept getting axed due to coronavirus restrictions.

The 61-year-old grandmother of two said: "They cancelled it four times. They transferred our dates bless them. We were very fortunate.

On Saturday, Robert, aged 60, arrived on the back of a new Indian motorbike provided free of charge by Midwest Moto in Stourport.

There were live singers and a DJ, and Mr and Mrs Woodall were able to party on the night with friends and family.

Following her big day, Jackie said: "It was absolutely fantastic. Everything went to plan, we couldn't have wished for a better day.

"Stourport Manor went above and beyond.

"It was well worth the wait."

The couple met at a motorbike run for local charities, with Jackie running a stall for KEMP Hospice where she volunteers. They became close friends and later supported him after he had a stroke.
