AROUND 2000 revellers enjoyed a day filled with fun and live music at the Mr Tee in the Park festival in Kidderminster.

The St George's Park bash in honour of late Horsefair record shop owner Francis Terry Thomas, also known by many as Mr Tee, returned for its third instalment on Sunday (August 22).

The free event featured a performance from punk princess Toyah Willcox - who impressed punters in the afternoon.

The pop singer, known for her eighties hits It's a Mystery, I Want to Be Free and Thunder in the Mountains, posed for photographs with star-struck fans.

The event also saw acts including James Baker, The Stiff Joints, The Fun-keys and Big Q Fish take to the stage.

There was also a range of stalls at the event, face painting, bouncy castles and circus performing.

Taking to social media, residents hailed the event a success. One Facebook user said: "Stood at the front to watch Toyah, she has a great presence on stage, doing the pogo dancing at 63 is impressive. It was magic."

Another said: "Brilliant afternoon, very well organised, and the weather was perfect."

Mr Tee in the Park organiser Dawn Anglin said: "It was fantastic. The weather was really kind to us. We had such a turnout - I would think a couple of thousand.

"I think it was the best ever. We had a great day.

"Toyah was spectacular - the bands were brilliant. The Stiff Joints really rocked it and James Baker was just great."

The first festival was held in 2017 in honour of the late Mr Tee who died following a battle with cancer.

It was started to celebrate Mr Tee, who was one of the founding members of the Horsefair and Proud Group, and all residents of Horsefair.
