KIDDERMINSTER-based Brintons Carpets has announced plans to relocate its headquarters next month.

The historic Axminster carpet manufacturer, founded in 1783, will move to new offices at Wyre Forest House on Fine Point Way - the home of the district council.

The HQ was previously located on Stourport Road after moving from its old base in the Grade II listed Brinton House on Exchange Street a decade ago.

Brintons has said the reason for the move is to "streamline its workflow, optimise processes" and "cater more easily to staff wellbeing."

The firm, which designs and manufactures carpet for world-leading hotels, casinos and cruise liners, has also said it's proud to retain core office operations in its birthplace of Kidderminster.

Chief executive Duccio Baldi said: “The relocation of our headquarters signals another positive step into Brintons’ future.

“A transition to a modern, more streamlined, intuitive space will allow us to cater more easily to staff wellbeing, allow us to introduce new systems to optimise our global processes, and best of all, will maintain our roots in the heart of Kidderminster.”

The firm will move into the new offices on September 6.

Councillor Helen Dyke, leader of Wyre Forest District Council said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Brintons as new tenants at Wyre Forest House.

"We are proud of the facilities we have and hope that they settle into their new work base.

"We already rent out space to four other organisations.

"As well as work areas the council also hires out its meeting rooms.

"These are just a couple of the ways we are working to increase revenue and maximise the use of Wyre Forest House.”
