A PROMISING young music producer and DJ from Kidderminster has landed a deal with a world famous record label.

Emily Nash, aged 20, who works at Tesco at Weaver's Wharf, says she was "in shock" when dance music icons Ministry of Sound called her up to offer her a recording contract.

Her brand of electronic dance music caught the attention of the label, with her previous single Pressure gaining more than a million streams on Spotify.

The up and coming star met with executives earlier this week, including Ministry of Sound president Dipesh Parmar, to officially sign to the 'home of dance music.'

Emily, who attended King Charles I School and studied music production at Kidderminster College, said: "I still can't quite get over it. I was in shock. It's been amazing.

"I started out with tech house, but now my genre is more dance music."

She says she will be recording some of her upcoming singles with the label.

Some of her influences include Gorgon City, Annie Mac, MK and the Radio One DJ Jaguar, who was one of the champions of her music early on.

Emily added: "Jaguar pushed me to where I am now."

She is also set to make her festival debut this weekend, taking the stage at Creamfields and Leeds festival having only ever performed two DJ sets. She recently played at Nubu in Kidderminster and Egg in London.

The producer dreams of releasing a number one single and hopes to travel to world as a DJ.

Following the news of Emily landing a record contract, her proud mum Sue Nash said: "We couldn't believe it. It's happened so quickly. She's living the dream.

"We have taken Emily to Glastonbury since she was 18-months-old.

"She's going to festivals this weekend - she's in in her element."
