A BIRTHDAY walk in aid of a Wyre Forest hospital charity looks set to raise more than £500 this month.
Jim Lawson wants to mark his 70th year by walking the marathon distance of just over 13 miles for Kidderminster Hospital League of Friends.
His Jimathon event on Sunday, September 26 has received plenty of support from walkers and donations are also rolling in.
The retired steel salesman, who spent 50 years in the industry, said: “I am delighted with the response so far, but the more walkers we have, the more money we can raise for this good cause.”
Jim’s walk will be four laps of a 3.4-mile circuit starting at Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club and covering Marlpool, Franche and Blakebrook.
Those wishing to join in or donate can obtain further details and sponsorship forms by calling the League of Friends office on 01562 67653.
