THE newly formed 'Friends of Brinton Park' group is looking for members.

The group has been working with the council, police, the Pick Up Artists and KDYT to tackle antisocial behaviour and to prepare the community for exciting new changes as a result of the successful Heritage Lottery Fund Award of £2.4 million.

Changing Places facilities and more social and community events in the park are high on their list of priorities. Guided historical tours of the Park are also available by appointment for anyone wishing to know more about the Park's fascinating story since 1887.

There will be an open event at Brinton Park on Sunday 26th September from 11am, giving residents an opportunity to meet with current members of the group and share their views on the future of the park.

Acting chair, Phil Ginnings said: "Exciting times lie ahead for Kidderminster's oldest park. The Park gets 250,000 visits every year from families, dog walkers, exercise groups and more. The new Friends of Brinton Park group welcomes all comers to contribute practical ideas that will place the park at the heart of the local community. Come and meet us to ensure you can have your say."
