SEVERN Side North in Bewdley has been closed whilst essential works are carried out by Severn Trent Water.
After the Worcestershire County Council's Highways and Travel team posted about the closure, which they said was due to "pollution control works" on Twitter, one concerned user said it sounded "slightly concerning" for residents.
Hi Barrie, nothing to worry about, it's some concrete in the sewer which needs investigating. Slightly misleading tweet of ours, the urgency is in the short notice for closure of the road

In response the Highways department posted: "Hi Barrie, nothing to worry about, it's some concrete in the sewer which needs investigating.
"Slightly misleading tweet of ours, the urgency is in the short notice for closure of the road."
However, Severn Trent has said the closure is related to essential repair work on a pipe.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for the disruption caused by our teams making essential sewer repairs on Severn Side North.
"To keep our teams safe as they do this, we’ve had to close a section of the road which we’re really sorry about.
"It will be our absolute priority to ensure the pipe is repaired with all work completed with the road back open as quickly as possible.”
