A MAIN road in Kidderminster looks set to remain closed until November after damage caused by a burst water main.

Flooding and "substantial damage" was caused to the Comberton Hill carriageway after the incident, which happened earlier this month on Monday (October 4).

Worcestershire County Council has said it is carrying out investigations into the damage as roads and footways are repaired.

They have said this means the road could remain closed until November 1. Businesses on the road will be fully open.

On Twitter, the council's Highways team said: "Investigations into damage caused by the water main burst at Comberton Hill #Kidderminster together with repairs to roads & footways are ongoing

"We anticipate Comberton Hill remaining closed until 1st November but will update as repairs progress

"Local businesses fully open."
