HOUSEHUNTERS could own their very own piece of history now that a grade-II listed Bewdley home is on the market.
Bailiff’s House, in High Street, was built in 1610 for Thomas Boylston, a local Bailiff, and has an asking price of £800,000
The property spans over three floors and is currently used for commercial and residential use.
It was the first house in the country to be dated using dendrochronology and has been described as a local landmark. The timber used to build the home was cut for Wyre Forest.
Bailiffs House has agreed planning to convert to a substantial family home. This approved plan is complete with six sizeable bedrooms, five en-suite bathrooms, two generous reception rooms, a self-contained office, a large kitchen with a separate utility area to the rear, all leading to an orangery for the proposed use of a formal dining area.
