BARGAIN hunters are in for a treat at a traditional jumble sale being held on Sunday (October 24) at Stourport’s Lickhill community centre, to raise funds for pioneering treatment for a pair of severely autistic twins.

The Kidderminster family of Summer and Meadow Lockey, from Essex, are desperately trying to raise funds towards the £32,000 cost of a third round of stem cell treatment in Panama for the six-year-old girls.

Their aunt, jumble sale co-organiser Sinead Maffei said: “Our fundraising has been badly hampered by Covid with a number of events cancelled, so we’re hoping this will raise lots of money for the twins.

“They have benefitted greatly from the treatments, the first of which was in 2018 and we just want them to have the best chance in life.”

The jumble sale will include clothes, toys and bric-a-brac and bargain hunters can browse and chat over a cuppa and a cake. There will also be a grand raffle with a host of prizes.

The sale is on at the centre in the Memorial Park, Lower Lickhill Road, from 1pm until 3pm.
