A WORCESTERSHIRE curry house owner called winning a top award for its dishes "a proud moment".

Entouraj Indian Kitchen and Bar, Kidderminster Road, Cutnall Green, scooped the BCA Best Regional Restaurant of the Year 2021.

Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) announced the regional winners of its Restaurant of the Year Awards.

Entouraj owner Murshed Tuhin said: “Winning this award is a proud moment, it recognises the talent of our chefs and the contribution we are making to this industry.

"We are thrilled to be ‘Curry Champions’ and we have worked hard to win and now we need people locally to come and experience our food and restaurant."

Entouraj was one of 11 UK regional winners which were chosen from hundreds of out-standing entrants.

The winners were judged on their innovation, presentation of food, hygiene standards and customer service.

Mitu Choudhury, secretary general at BCA says: “Our awards are a celebration of the Bangladeshi curry industry, shining a light on great local curry houses serving great food. These winners are creating some of the best curries in the country and we need to support them.”

The highly-coveted BCA Awards were held at O2 after last year's awards were disrupted due to the covid pandemic.

The award’s night was co-hosted by Samantha Simmonds, BBC News presenter, and Gary Newbon, Sky Sports presenter.

BCA president Mr Munim said: “It is great to be able to host these awards again, as they are the perfect way to recognise these innovative winning restaurants who are keeping local high-streets buzzing.

"They are integral to our local communities.”
