PRIMARY School pupils have presented brave firefighters who battled a large blaze in Kidderminster with canvas photos of the major emergency.

St. John's C.E. Primary School welcomed Wyre Forest firefighters last week and children thanked them for their efforts during the Park Street fire in September.

Many of the children from the school live close to where the blaze ravaged industrial units. Homes in the nearby area were evacuated and some families were unable to return home on the night of the fire.

Pupils wanted to show the fire crew their gratitude for keeping themselves and their homes and families safe.

The children raised the money to pay for the canvases through a cake sale organised by the school's PTA.

The firefighters provided several images, which were taken whilst they tackled the blaze, and children voted for the three pictures they preferred.
