KIDDERMINSTER residents are going to the polls to vote in the Franche and Habberley North by-election today (Tuesday, November 30).

Polling stations will be open until 10pm, where people can vote for a new member of Wyre Forest District Council. 

The four candidates standing for  are Doug Hine (Independent), Nigel Knowles (Labour Party), David Ross (Conservative Party) and Oliver Walker (Liberal Democrats).

Voters are encouraged to wear face coverings in polling stations and bring their own pen or pencil.

So far just over 60 per cent of people who have chosen to vote by post have returned their ballot paper.

Those who are postal voter but haven’t sent the ballot paper back, can drop it into your normal polling stations.
