HUNDREDS gathered in Bewdley on Saturday (November 27) for the annual Christmas Lights switch-on event.
Despite the cancellation of the Christmas Market, due to high winds, the day was a success thanks to the support of the local people and visitors.
Bewdley Rotary Club donated the Christmas tree and Light Ideas lit up the bridge.
The town’s traders entered into the spirit by decorating their windows, with Kemp Hospice Shop celebrating winning the ‘Best Dressed Window’ competition. Hayley and Jamie from Kemp did a great job in dressing their window, depicting the Nativity, using only a selection of fabrics and items donated to the hospice.
Many pubs and restaurants opened their doors to local stallholders and St Anne’s Church hosted a variety of charity stalls including The Bewdley School InterAct Club who were raising awareness of climate change and raising money for ‘Planting for Hope Uganda’.
