A CHRISTMAS light and music extravaganza has returned to a Stourport house to spread festive cheer.

Nick Wright has once again transformed his house in Malham Road into a light-up multi-coloured rock show to raise funds for the Severn Valley Railway, where he volunteers.

This is the third year he has showcased the light spectacular but this year's display is bigger than ever as it made up 23, 433 individual lights.

Each light is individually controlled by a computer network to align with a playlist of songs, which can be heard from the street and by passing drivers who tune their car radios into 88.9fm

It takes month to plan and is a real labour of love for the 49-year-old, with families travelling from all over to enjoy the display as part of a new Christmas tradition.

Nick said: "You get children dancing along to the songs. I had a lovely letter from a little boy who said he comes every Sunday to see the lights. It's all about making children smile, it's what makes it worthwhile."

Nick has set up a milk churn outside his house in support of the local Severn Valley Railway, last year raising £2,500.

The lights are displayed each night until January 1, from 5pm to 9pm.
