A CHURCH in Stourport is holding a Christmas tree festival to raise vital funds for three charities.

On Saturday, December 18 and Sunday, December 19, St Bartholomew Church on Rectory Lane will be filled with Christmas trees and festive fun.

Youngsters can have the chance to write a last minute letter to Father Christmas, pet Boo the donkey, who will be visiting with a friend on December 18 and colour in a Christmas igloo.

The festival is set to be opened by mayor of Stourport Councillor Danny Russell at 10am on December 18.

Refreshments will be available including mulled wine and mice pies and some treats from a sweet cart.

All money raised from the two-day event will be divided between Acorn’s Childrens Hospice, Trussell Trust Food Bank and Stourport Army Cadets.

Entry is free to the festival and buckets will be dotted around the festivities for collections.

The festival will be held from 10am to 8pm Saturday and 11am to 8pm on Sunday. A carol service will be held at 6.30pm on Sunday.
