AN appeal has been launched after yobs attempted to smash their way into a Bewdley school building over the festive period.

The Bewdley School has said staff were saddened to find a window had been smashed at its Youth Centre building on Tuesday, December 21.

The incident happened between 5.55pm and 6.05pm.

In a post on Facebook, the school said: "Two youths have smashed a large window and attempted to gain access through another window to our Youth Centre.

"The two males are white, approximately 14 to 16 years of age of slim build, one wearing shorts, a puffer jacket with a reflective logo on, trainers and a small men's cross-body bag.

"The second male is wearing light coloured jogging bottoms, a zip up hoodie with a reflective logo, trainers and also has a men's cross-body bag with writing on the strap."

The school has also sent CCTV footage to the police, who they say are currently investigating the incident.

They have urged those with any information to contact police on 101, quoting the reference 232_I_02012022.

According the school, the Youth Centre has been empty for over a decade but plans are in place to recommission it to once again to provide youth provision to the community of Bewdley.
