A POP-up covid vaccination clinic is opening at Kidderminster Medical Centre on Thursday (January 13).

Anyone aged 16 or over who needs to have their first, second or booster vaccinations, can ‘Grab a Jab’ with no appointment needed.

The walk-in Pfizer vaccination clinic will be open from 8.30am until 12.30pm at Kidderminster Medical Centre, Waterloo Street, Kidderminster DY10 2BG.

There is no need to book and no requirement to be registered with Kidderminster Medical Centre, just turn up and have a vaccination.

Cases of Coronavirus are increasing with a strong link between lower take up of the booster jab in certain areas of Wyre Forest with a higher number of cases. Across the whole district 62 per cent of residents aged 18 and over have had their boosters, however this figure is as low as 41 per cent in some parts of Kidderminster.

Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said: “Please make sure you get your jabs, if you haven’t already. Vaccines are safe and are the best way to contain the virus, help our NHS, and keep our friends and families protected.

“I am grateful to all partners and volunteers who are supporting us to set up and run this ‘Grab a Jab’ clinic, providing yet another opportunity to make sure residents of Wyre Forest can have their first, second or booster vaccine as soon as possible.”

Councillor Karen May, Cabinet Member Health and Wellbeing for Worcestershire County Council added: “Where take up of the vaccination is lower, we have seen an increase in cases of COVID-19. This can sadly lead to serious illness and hospitalisation. Getting the vaccination is the best way to prevent your risk of getting poorly and will help protect your family too.”

Clare Nock from Wyre Forest Health Partnership said: “We are ready to help anyone who needs to get their vaccination, whether it’s their first, second or their booster. We can help you if you are feeling nervous or have any questions. Please come see us at the walk in clinic and get yourself protected”.

Public Health in Worcestershire, Wyre Forest Health Partnership and Wyre Forest District Council are working together on the pop-up clinic to make it easier and more convenient for people to get vaccinated.
