CLASSICAL music lovers are set for a treat as highly acclaimed Gig Caritas will be performing three of the world's most reknown pieces at Kidderminster Town Hall on March 26.

The Gig Caritas Chorus together with Stourbridge Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart's Requiem in D Minor, Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Handel's Zadok the Priest..

The concert which commences at 7-30pm will feature appearances from soloists Louise Maguire, Judith Moreland, Edward Harrison and Jack Brookes all under the watchful baton of conductor Keith Horsfall.

Gig Caritas will also be attempting to raise funds at the same time for Kidderminster and District Youth Trust who support youngsters with their mental health plus Brierley Hill based organisation Resonance, which helps train musicians and technitians going into the music industry.

Currently in their 11th year, Gig Caritas has raised well over £50,000 for good causes across the Black Country and West Midlands since their creation.

Co-founder David Herrington said: "We must have upto 400 people who volunteer to help and support us over the year, all of whom are happy to give up their time for free, many of whom have been with us right from the start. No one has ever asked for any money.

"I do hope people will come out and support us again for what should be another excellent evening.

"Although Gig Caritas is originally Stourbridge based, we have performed at various venues stretching as far as Lichfield to Kidderminster".

Tickets for the concert cost just £10 and can be obtained from www.kidderminstertownhall.org.uk or on the door.

Additional donations are also extremely welcome and collections buckets are provided on the night.
