THE Bewdley Riverside Market will be replaced by two brand new festivals coming to the town.

The new Bewdley Food and Drink Festival will offer live music, street entertainment, with a range of stalls.

A summer edition will be held on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday June 19, with an Autumn edition landing on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4.

The two festivals will replace the Bewdley Riverside Market, run by LSD Promotions, that previously took place on the first and third Sunday of each month.

In a post on the Bewdley Festivals Facebook page, Jon Holliday, business development manager at LSD Promotions, said: “We are very excited about bringing these new events to Bewdley, our Food and Drink Festivals are highly popular, they are heavily publicised and will be a huge economic draw for the town.

"So it is a very positive step forward, something different to look forward to."

The Facebook post added: “Bewdley Town Council is happy to support a change to the delivery of markets. The two-day festival style market being held in early summer and autumn will bring tourists and the local community into the town providing a diverse mix of trade complimenting that of the local traders”.

A Christmas market is also planned to take place on Saturday, December 17.
