A CARING Stourport woman who is dedicating her life to saving cats now needs help to keep her work running.

Ashlee Żogała, who works part-time as an emergency service administrator, has also been independently rescuing cats and kittens for the last seven years.

She's been looking after injured and neglected felines that require care and treatment - often found in desperate conditions.

She has now launched a fundraiser to help with the costs to carry out her life-saving work.

“I’m relying on my part-time wage to fund it and it’s becoming quite difficult," the 27-year-old said.

“This is taking up a lot of my time. I’ve been rescuing for seven years. It’s picked up over the last two months.”

She says a lot of the cats she has rescued were located in Birmingham but has also received calls to help poorly cats in the Wyre Forest area.

“They come really terrible situations," she added.

“At the moment I’m rescuing extremely vulnerable animals.

“Sometimes they don’t make it and sometimes they have a fighting chance.”

Her GoFundMe page has already received more than £500.

She said: “Unfortunately, the costs of Vet treatment, Specialist Food & Supplies build up quickly.

"I cannot continue doing it alone, so I have decided to reach out to people around me for the first time.

"The UK has almost 250,000 stray cats living without basic necessities, without a home and someone to love them. We can't change the world, but by doing one good deed at a time we can make it a better place.

"All donations will be used solely for the purpose of the care of the animals and all amounts are appreciated greatly."

She currently has four cats in her care which she eventually hopes to rehome.
