INQUESTS into the deaths of a Kidderminster police officer and his three-year-old son have been postponed.

Following the tragedy last year, West Mercia Police confirmed they were treating the death of serving officer David Louden as a suspected suicide, and the death of his son Harrison as a suspected murder, following post-mortem examinations.

They were found dead at their home on Cairndhu Drive in Kidderminster on August 13, 2021.

Worcestershire Coroner's Service previously confirmed that inquests into the deaths of David Jonathan Louden, aged 39, and Harrison Louden, aged three, were set to take place on Wednesday, April 13.

However, the inquests, due to take place at Stourport Coroner's Court, have now been postponed due to "circumstances beyond the coroner's control."

A new date for the inquests has yet to be scheduled.

Last year, Mr Louden's wife Samantha led a tribute to her husband and son, along with their wider family.

In a statement, she joined other family members in expressing their "deep shock, grief and devastation at the loss of two much-loved family members."

They said: “David was a kind, loving, considerate, amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague.

"Harrison was a happy, well-loved little boy. They will both be forever missed and loved.”
