FIREFIGHTERS rushed out to fires on Severn Valley Railway embankments during its popular Spring Steam Gala.
The fires broke out next to the railway line yesterday afternoon (Thursday, April 21), at points off Northwood Lane and near Stourport Road in Bewdley.
The first fire, which covered around 60 square metres of land, was believed to have been caused by a passing locomotive, according to the Severn Valley Railway.
Locomotives were running at a reduced speed whilst a caution was in force as crews controlled the fire.
Firefighters from Wyre Forest Fire Station extinguished the flames and confirmed there were no casualties.
The fires meant delays to train services during the Severn Valley Railway's popular Spring Steam Gala, which runs until Sunday, April 24.
