PLANS to build 33 new flats on the former Chichester Caravan site in Stourport have been given the green light.
The proposal will see the demolition of the former caravan dealer building off Vale Road, with three new blocks of flats built in its place.
The 33 properties will be affordable rent tenure delivered through Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT).
Stourport residents previously took to Wyre Forest District Council's planning website to raise traffic concerns relating to the proposal. Some appreciated that the plan would put the redundant land back into use.
One person said: “I am generally in favour of the houses. However, I am concerned with yet another exit onto Vale Road and one so close to a major junction”.
Another said: “33 households having access directly onto the already busy Vale Road is ridiculous”.
The proposal was approved by Wyre Forest District Council this week.
