BEWDLEY has elected a new mayor who is "delighted" to be serving his "beautiful town."

Bewdley appointed its new Mayor, Councillor Rod Stanczyszyn, who will be supported by his wife Lynn as Mayoress, at the annual town council meeting earlier this month.

Councillor Sarah Billett was elected as Deputy Mayor for the coming year.
In his role as Mayor, Councillor Stanczyszyn will represent the town at a wide range of functions across the region, including charity, community and formal events.

The Mayor has chosen to support three charities; Wyre Forest Guide Dogs, Severn Area Rescue and Simply Limitless.

The newly elected mayor said: “I am delighted to be elected as the Mayor of Bewdley and I am looking forward to representing my beautiful town and its communities with great pride.
