THE riverside toilets in Stourport will now be closed in afternoons following days of vandalism and an "arson attack."

The toilets were only recently reopened after ownership was transferred from Wyre Forest District Council to Stourport Town Council.

Now, the toilets will be closed in afternoons with immediate effect following recent vandalism.

Stourport Town Council posted on Facebook: "Stourport-on-Severn Town Council have made the difficult decision to close the Riverside toilets in Stourport in the afternoons for the foreseeable future with immediate effect.

"This is following several days of vandalism and a recent arson attack.

"Since taking over the ownership of the toilets in April 2022, we have made every effort to make them more accessible to our community by extending opening hours during the day.

"However, due to a handful of mindless individuals, this has proven difficult".
