A TESCO manager has been named the new Mayor of Kidderminster for the coming year.
Last week, at the annual meeting of Kidderminster Town Council, Councillor Kevin Gale was installed as Kidderminster mayor.
Over 150 guests, including many mayors and dignitaries from the surrounding area, watched Councillor Gale being invested with his chain and robes at a packed town hall.
Councillor Gale, a Tesco Manager, and Councillor for Foley Park and Hoobrook said: “It is a privilege to become Kidderminster Town Mayor during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
"I am incredibly proud to be representing the Town and the wonderful people who live here.
"I plan to showcase the facilities, local businesses and charities we have in Kidderminster.”
Councillor Gale’s mayoral charities this year will be the HUGS, Prostate Cancer UK, and Stepway.
The deputy Mayor is councillor Darren Chambers.
