KEMP Hospice supporters Lucy Issacs and Sarah Nash have successfully completed a 10-mile walking challenge of Mount Snowdon, raising vital funds for KEMP Hospice.

Having set an original fundraising target of £100, to date they’ve smashed their target by raising over £600 including Gift Aid donations.

Taking on the challenge at the end of April, Lucy and Sarah took the Pyg Walk route up Snowdon, and the Miners route down, walking a total of 10 miles across the day.

Speaking about the challenge Lucy said: “We wanted to raise money for a local charity and both our families have received support from KEMP Hospice for which we will be forever grateful.”

Both Lucy and Sarah decided they wanted to take on a challenge to support KEMP Hospice, in memory of Lucy’s Dad, David and Sarah’s Mom, Sylvia.

Sarah said: “Both our lives were completely turned upside down when I lost my Mom and Lucy her Dad. KEMP were able to support our families when we needed them, so we want to give back by fundraising and showing support for them”

Lucy added: “Even after training for the challenge, the constant climb and unsteady terrain all the way up was unbelievable, but when we got to the summit it was such a buzz, making it all worthwhile!”

Jayne Sargeant, Fundraiser at KEMP Hospice said “We are so grateful to both Lucy and Sarah. Taking on Snowdon is a huge challenge and we’re so appreciative that they chose to support KEMP Hospice.

It’s such an amazing achievement, and the funds they have raised will provide so much support to Wyre Forest residents.

£600 will cover the cost of over 12 one-to-one counselling sessions with our Family Support & Bereavement Services Team.”
