A fire left a man and a child needing medical treatment in the Hoobrook area of Kidderminster.
The blaze broke out in a fifth floor flat, fire crews were dispatched at 7.55pm on May 25 to the incident on St Cecilia's Close.
The fire, on a sofa in the living room of the flat, was put out by four firefighters in breathing apparatus using two hose reel jets.
Three crews from Wyre Forest and crews from Bromsgrove and Droitwich were at the scene along with police and paramedics.
One man in his thirties and a small child were treated by paramedics.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the fire service at 8.19pm to a property fire in St Cecilia Close, Kidderminster.
"An ambulance, three paramedic officers and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene. Two patients, a man and a child, were assessed by ambulance staff and received treatment on scene for injuries not believed to be life-threatening before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further checks."
