FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze involving around 500 litres of oil in Stourport.

The fire started at around 9am today (Tuesday May 31) in Severn Bank Park off Bewdley Road North. 

Fire crews from Wyre Forest, Droitwich and Bromsgrove were called to the fire in an outbuilding, near a chalet park.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Control tweeted at 9.02am: "Severn_Bank_Park, #Stourport - @HWFireWFhub, @HWFireDroitwich & @HWFireBGrove are dealing with a fire involving an outbuilding, LPG cylinders and oil."

They later issued an update at 10.06am stating: "Severn_Bank_Park, #Stourport - "Update" approx 500 litres of oil is involved in the fire. @shropsfire Environmental protection unit #EPU mobilised from Tweedale as well as @EnvAgency being updated. #HWFire."

 



 

 

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire Control said at 10.52am that the response had been scaled down to two fire engines and that the fire involved a large quantity of vegetable oil.
