A JOINT funeral is being held for two Stourport brothers who died just over a week apart.

Terry Tucholski, aged 72, and Paul Tucholski, aged 66, both passed away unexpectedly last month.

The brothers, who previously worked in the local carpet industry, both lived at a house on Princess Way in Stourport. Paul lived there all his life, with Terry moving back to the home 32 years ago.

Terry's daughter Karina Webb, aged 49, said her father died in hospital following a routine operation.

Karina said her father was set to be discharged a few days after the operation.

But the father of two and grandfather of six was suddenly taken ill and later died on May 14. An inquest is set to be held into his death in September. He leaves behind his daughter Karina and son Ross Tucholski, aged 46.

Just over a week later on May 23, Karina found her uncle Paul unresponsive in the family home with a post-mortem confirming he had died of heart failure. She said Paul had died of a "broken heart."

Paying tribute to her father and uncle, Karina said: "Dad Terry and Uncle Paul dad enjoyed going to rock concerts, meeting the family in Stourport for a pub lunch and putting a bet on.

"They were both keen gardeners growing their own veg, flowers, plants.

"They grew their own chillies and gave them to friends and family, and took them down the local pub along with their pickled onions and eggs.

"Paul was a keen photographer and took lots of wedding and christening photos for family friends. He enjoyed building and flying model helicopters.

"They will both be sadly missed".

Terry's son Ross said: "Dad was my best mate. I will miss having a drink and cigarette with him.

"He was always there when I needed him. Rest in peace Dad and Paul".

Karina said that she believes a double funeral is what the two brothers would have wanted.

“They’re both going together," she added.

The funeral will be held at St Bartholomew's Areley Kings on Wednesday, June 22, at 10.30am.

They will both be buried at St Michael's and All Angels church in Stourport following the service.
