A MALICIOUS communications investigation has been launched after Kidderminster Police Station was evacuated.
The station was evacuated at around 12:50 pm on Saturday, June 25 after a "concerned member of the public" brought a suspicious package to the station.
It is believed he received the parcel in the mail at his home address.
Bomb disposal experts were brought in to check over the item and discovered the package was not dangerous.
Habberley Road remained open while the police station was evacuated.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit attended to ensure the item was safe and thankfully there was nothing dangerous inside, however, a malicious communications investigation has been launched by our officers."
The station was open again at around 3.35 pm.
