POLICE have issued a warning about the dangers of swimming in Stourport's "Blue Lagoon" quarry as temperatures are expected to soar.
On Facebook, Wyre Forest Police posted: "With the expected hot weather coming up a reminder, please do not use the quarry.
"Although it looks beautiful it is dangerous to swim in and tragically people have died there over recent years".
The Met Office has issued its first red warning for extreme heat, warning of a “potentially very serious situation” in parts of England.
Forecasters say there is an 80 per cent chance of the mercury topping the UK’s record temperature of 38.7C (101.7F) set in Cambridge in 2019, with the current heatwave set to peak on Tuesday.
