A PLAN to rebuild a warehouse that was destroyed in a huge Kidderminster fire last year has been given the green light.
The proposal is to reconstruct the Unit 5A building on the same footprint as the former warehouse at Park Street Industrial Estate.
On September 8, 2021, a fire broke out at the Betts Metals factory on the estate, which caused a major incident to be declared by emergency service.
At the fire's height around 20 fire appliances and around 100 firefighters were at the scene.
Workers on the industrial estate managed to escape the fire, which caused explosions, and nearby residents were evacuated from their homes.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service thanked members of the community for their support and donations of food and water during the fire.
The plan to rebuild a warehouse on the estate was submitted to Wyre Forest District Council and approved on Wednesday, August 10.
