WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier has thrown his support behind Rishi Sunak in the Conservative leadership race.
The MP said that he is “absolutely convinced” that the former Chancellor of the Exchequer’s plan for the economy is the "right one for Britain”.
Either Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss will be announced as the UK’s next Prime Minister on September 5.

Mr Garnier said on Twitter: “After quite a few weeks following our two excellent candidates for leader, I’m still absolutely convinced that Rishi’s plan for the economy is the right one for Britain.
“That’s why I’m backing @RishiSunak for Conservative leader and PM #ReadyForRishi".
In a previous column in the Shuttle, Mr Garnier said “Sunak’s ideas are right for the time”.
The winner of the ballot will be appointed Prime Minister on September 6.
