AN overnight blaze has left only the walls of a two-storey home standing in rural Wyre Forest.
More than 15 firefighters battled for three hours to save the detached house off a private track on the Heightington Road, near Bewdley yesterday.
The flames had already taken hold by the time fire crews arrived following an emergency call from the male property owner at 8.50pm.
He was not in the house at the time but had been living in a log cabin just yards away while renovations took place.
Teams from Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport used hose reels to fight the fire, piping water from a nearby ornamental pool in the grounds.
Mel Turbutt, Kidderminster watch manager, said: "It was just completely burnt out 100 per cent.
"It looked a really nice house in a beautiful location."
An investigation team was due to visit the scene to find out what started the fire, today.
