THE entry for Sunday's British heart Foundation Hearts First fun run is well up on last year.

More than 450 are expected to take part in the family event which starts and finishes at the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre at Callow Hill at 11am.

And you can enter on the day for a slightly higher fee which will add to the money raised for the vital work of the BHF.

Staff at a Bewdley company have rallied the fun run through the beautiful Wyre Forest.

Thirteen members of staff and management at K Drewe insurance brokers are planning to run, jog, walk (and even crawl if necessary!) over the 5k route, accompanied by various friends, family and dogs.

The charity was brought to the company's attention for last year's inaugural race when it sponsored one of its consultants, Neil Sollom.

Neil ran the route in a very credible 44 minutes 27 seconds, just six months after a quadruple heart bypass, and raised well over £2,000 once gift aid was claimed.

In recognition of his efforts and with most of the team knowing someone affected by heart problems, they made the commitment this year to provide a team for the vent.

Managing director Ian Drewe said: "We've introduced a new staff programme this year aimed at helping everyone achieve a rewarding work-life balance, so that we do more things together.

"We look after our health and we also do more for our community and the world around us. This BHF fun run is the first event to successfully combine all three elements. "
