AN ‘affectionate’ dog was found underweight, undernourished and dumped in the Wyre Forest area.
Named, ‘Baby Girl’, the Bully breed was found earlier this month by Worcestershire’s dog warden with an infected open wound in her tail.
The warden said it was ‘obvious’ she had been used to breed multiple litters and was presumably dumped when her condition meant she was no use to them anymore.
Worcestershire Regulatory Services Animal Welfare Officer Pip Griffin said: “This poor affectionate soul was just seen as a money-making machine and when she could no longer produce puppies for the greedy breeders, she was dumped.
“It is absolutely disgusting that a beautiful creature can be treated in this way and the suffering she has gone through is unnecessary.
“There are hundreds of dogs and puppies of all breeds at local kennels so please contact these if you are looking for a pet. If you are using a breeder do your checks and make sure you can afford to keep your dog, considering vets’ bills, food, equipment and the love and attention they totally deserve and need.”
Earlier this month, Dilly the dachshund was found abandoned with worms and mange in the Wychavon area.
She is now in a foster home with access to veterinary care but will not be rehomed in the area local to where she was found.
