A KIDDERMINSTER comic has been paying for people's shopping and supporting selfless residents this Christmas.

Adam Woodhouse, known by many as Kiddy Lad, has used funds raised from his previous Santa Run to donate to members of the Wyre Forest Community.

Earlier this month, the social media personality surprised Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons shoppers by giving them £100 each to pay for their items.

He visited five supermarkets across Wyre Forest, with Adam handing out £2,500 in total to 25 shoppers.

He said shoppers included first-time mums, single parents, parents with kids, middle-aged people and also elderly people.

Adam said: "I can honestly say that from the tears and relief we saw in those people's eyes it 100 per cent went to people who needed it".

"People were shocked that I was even suggesting it because they thought it was a joke.

"They couldn't get their head around that someone wanted to help.

"I like helping people. It gives me a nice feeling - a really good buzz".

Adam's also donated £2615.29 to Kidderminster Food Bank, as well as other funds to the Jubilee Swimming Club based at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre and mental health charity Reach Out based at Wolverley High School.

He also surprised Becky McClean at Stourport's Special Steps with a trip to London with her mum for her work with children with additional needs.

Adam has thanked all Santa Run volunteers, Kidderminster Foodbank, and all the supermarkets involved.
