THE Post House pub in Kidderminster is celebrating after receiving a five-star food hygiene rating.

The Blackwell Street pub, previously named the Red Man, reopened its doors shortly before Christmas after a major revamp.

Commenting on achieving the top food hygiene rating, Olivia Keane, general manager of the pub said: “We take every facet of running the pub very seriously, from the food and beverage line up to the live entertainment and most importantly the health and hygiene standards, the important ‘behind the scenes standards’ that gives customers that level of confidence in what we do.

"We’re thrilled to achieve 5 Stars, I’m very proud of the team and I know that our customers will be delighted by the rating.”

Katie McPhilimey, marketing director for Davenports added: “We spent a considerable amount of money towards the end of last year, renovating the pub and implementing what is an award-winning menu, to know that the important behind the scenes standards score top marks for Health & Hygiene makes us very proud of the team.

"According to the latest NFU Mutual Food Hygiene Report, 69 per cent of people check the food hygiene rating of establishments they use, and it does influence their choices.”

The Post House is the first Davenports branded pub in Kidderminster in over three decades.
