A MAN has been slapped with a £200 fined after his rubbish was flytipped by someone he'd paid to take it away.

The Stourport man hadn't checked the person had a waste carriers’ licence and he didn’t get the correct paperwork.

He'd paid the man £20 to take away beds, mattresses and general waste. The rubbish was layer found flytipped off Blakeshall Lane in Wolverley.

Wyre Forest District Council shared a photograph of the dumped mattresses on its Facebook page.

The council has issued a warning to residents and provided information on how they can get rid of their waste responsibly.

In the Facebook post, the council said: "If you’re paying someone to take your waste away, you must make sure whoever collects your rubbish disposes of it responsibly and legally.

"Our Enforcement Officers gave a Stourport man a £200 fixed penalty notice after his waste was flytipped by someone he’d paid to take it away.

"He hadn’t checked the person had a valid waste carriers’ licence and he didn’t get the correct paperwork.

"The beds, mattresses and general waste he’d paid £20 to be taken away were found flytipped in Blakeshall Lane, Wolverley.
