A ROAD where three people were killed after a car crash is expected to be closed until Friday evening (May 12).
The crash happened at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, May 10 near the Duke William Pub on the A456 and involved a blue Ford Focus and a black Audi A7
The Ford Focus was travelling towards Kidderminster and the Audi A7 towards Rock when the collision happened.
Tragically three people in the Ford Focus were pronounced dead at the scene, a 32-year-old woman, a 28-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy.
The three people, a woman and two children, in the Audi, were taken to the Worcester Royal Hospital with minor injuries.
The A456 is expected to be closed until tomorrow evening (May 12) while officers carry out investigation work.
Wyre Forest District Council posted on Facebook: “We have now been informed the road closure following last night’s (Wednesday 10 May) fatal road traffic collision in Callow Hill #Rock near #Bewdley is anticipated to be in place until the evening of Friday 12 May while officers continue with their investigation. Please find an alternative route.
“Visitors to the Wyre Forest Visitors Centre can still gain access, however you may experience some disruption to your route.”
Inspector Stephanie Arrowsmith, from West Mercia Police’s operations policing unit, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the loved ones of the people who died in the collision.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dash-cam footage which may help with the investigation to call the investigating officers.”
