KIDDERMINSTER racing driver Daniel Rowbottom took home his second career win at the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship race (BTCC) at Thruxton.

The 34-year-old was overjoyed with his success in the championship, which happened on Sunday, June 11.

Adam Morgan initially had a great start and looked set to take victory in his WSR BMW, but after Rowbottom blew past Aiden Moffat in his Starline Civic the chase was well and truly on and with speed and tenacity, he caught Morgan to take a memorable victory in race three.

Napa Racing took all three victories in the Ford Focus ST, with Ashley Sutton making BTCC history scoring three consecutive double-race victories taking the former champ's total to six victories for the season.

Rowbottom told BTCC: “I made up places at the start and then it was a good battle with Aiden [Moffat].

"Aiden put up a great challenge, but our car was fantastic and so once we got clear and into second I set about chasing Adam [Morgan] down.

"I didn’t plan to make the move into Church, but it was a great feeling to take the win".

The BTCC now heads for Oulton Park later this month.
