A STOURPORT man has been handed a suspended prison sentence after a spree of fuel thefts.

The 44-year-old admitted stealing a total of £305.36 in fuel from the petrol station.

In addition to this, the defendant pleaded guilty to stealing two padded jackets from Mountain Warehouse in Kidderminster worth £299 in total, as well as laundry products and a beef joint from Spar on Lickhill Road, Stourport, worth £51.36.

He also targeted Morrisons on Worcester Road, stealing laundry products to the value of between £25 to £30.

Lander also pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour thereby causing a person harassment, alarm or distress.

He was also caught driving a car without a licence and without third-party insurance.

He was handed a 26-week sentence suspended for 24 months at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on June 7.

He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, pay compensation for the stolen goods and £300 in costs to the CPS.

He also received six penalty points on his driving record.
