PUPILS at Hartlebury CE Primary School are hoping “every little helps” in their bid to win first place in the Tesco Community Grant vote, which runs until the end of September.

With three worthy bids for customers to choose from, the school is set to bag at least £500 but hopes enough shoppers will choose their Early Years Outdoor Area project to win first place and £1,500.

Worn-out wooden climbing equipment had to be removed so funds are needed for modern alternatives to support the physical and social development of the pre-school and reception class children.

Sophie Bartlett, head of school, said: “We were thrilled when Tesco accepted our application to go to the voting stage and hope shoppers use the tokens, given on all purchases, to vote for us.

“We’ll be grateful for third place and £500, but of course will be able to provide so much more if we are awarded the £1,000 second prize or the £1,500 first prize, and so I urge our community to keep voting until the end of the month.”
