THE Stourport High School and Vlth Form College will showcase its facilities and opportunities to prospective students and their families later this month.

The open evening at the Minster Road school, for those looking to apply for a secondary school place for September 2024, will run from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, September 28.

As well as talks from principal Sara Peace and the chance to meet staff and students, the school will be highlighting the range of subjects taught, its extensive extra-curricular programme and sixth form provision.

Mrs Peace said: “With no need to book, all prospective students and their families are welcome to see for themselves the amazing opportunities we have to offer and the range of facilities, including our purpose-built sixth form college, which are on par with a lot of private schools locally.”

The school is aiming to become a centre of sporting excellence and is currently having a state-of-the-art 4G rugby pitch built. It also has a national standard basketball arena, two other artificial grass pitches, access to an athletics track, a velo track, netball dome and a fitness gym.

Mrs Peace added: “I hope visitors will experience something of the caring and nurturing environment which supports all our children.”
