The much-loved riverside Christmas market made a magical return to Bewdley last weekend.

LSD Promotions in partnership with Bewdley Town Council hosted a range of entertainment, festive stalls and street food delights for the community on Saturday (December 2).

From stocking fillers and seasonal tipple including mulled wine to bespoke decorations and the highly anticipated light switch on, there was something for the whole family to enjoy.

DJ Lee Dyson, who helped kick start the festivities on the evening, said: “I absolutely loved being part of the event, Bewdley town and its people truly showed up to enjoy and celebrate.

“Despite having a tough year, the love and resilience of its folk were exceptional and shone through the entire event. Very proud memories.”

The Mug House Inn and Restaurant added: “What a wonderful weekend Bewdley had with the lights switch on and Christmas Market.

“We would love to thank everyone who supported local this weekend and to everyone who drank us out of mulled wine.”

The Christmas market ran was free to attend and ran along Severnside North and Severnside South throughout the day with a fun fair located in Load street from 12pm until 6pm.

There was also live entertainment at The Big Red Bus throughout the day including a special performance from the Got 2 Sing Choir.

For those wanting to take a fun trip into Bewdley, the Severn Valley Railway also ran a successful steam train service which departed from Kidderminster at 4.30pm in time for the light switch on. 

The community was so impressed with the event that they took to social media to share their thoughts on the evening of festivities. 

Resident, Susan Stapenhill-Harris, said: “It was brilliant.”

Another resident, Kate Wyle, said: “Fantastic turn out.”

Dot Thompson added: "Well done Bewdley."
