POLICE are investigating the "unexplained" death of a woman in her 50s. 

The body of a woman was discovered at a property at Longfellow Green in Kidderminster on Friday morning (December 1).

West Mercia Police have launched a probe to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.

In a statement, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “An investigation has been launched after a woman’s body was discovered at an address in Kidderminster.

“At around 11am on Friday (December 1) police were called after a woman’s body was discovered at a property on Longfellow Green in the town.

“Sadly, the woman aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained”.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 11.10am on Friday 1st December to an incident at a private address on Longfellow Green in Kidderminster.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a woman. Unfortunately, it was clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
