A MAN and a woman were taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after a crash in Broadwaters, Kidderminster.

Police, firefighters and medics were called to a three-vehicle crash on Wolverhampton Road in Broadwaters yesterday (Tuesday December 5) at around 2.26pm.

The crash caused delays for motorists, who were advised to avoid the area.

Medics treated a man and a woman at the scene for potentially serious injuries. The man was taken to Russells Hall Hospital and the woman was taken to Alexandra Hospital. 

They were the driver and passenger of one of the cars.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.26pm to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on Wolverhampton Road in Broadwaters, Kidderminster.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found two patients who were a man and a woman who were the driver of and a passenger in the first car.

"The man was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.

"The woman was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.

"She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Alexandra Hospital for further assessment.”

Two firefighting crews from Wyre Forest Fire Station were called to the scene at 3.58pm.

A spokesman for Hereford & Worcester Fire Service said: "The incident involved three vehicles, two of which had left the scene.

"The remaining vehicle, which was on all four wheels, was stabilised and made safe.

"One person was medically trapped and released from the vehicle by fire service personnel and paramedics."
