TWO Kidderminster business leaders have urged other companies across Wyre Forest to ‘keep it local’ as they mark a 16-year partnership.

IT solutions provider Minster Micro Computers, and windows experts 5 Star Windows and Conservatories, began their link up in 2007 and have since gone on to use their respective specialisms to boost both family-owned businesses.

Examples include Minster Micro overhauling the window firm’s IT security, networking and computer systems, with Worcester Road neighbours 5 Star recently installing a new glass staircase at Minster’s newly refurbished headquarters.

Susan Marlow, managing director of Minster Micro said: “It’s a huge thing for us to promote and protect our local economy and our partnership with the team at 5 Star is a perfect example.

“We have a synergy in how we do business and as family-owned firms, we have a great understanding which also allows us to do reciprocal business together.

“I feel it’s a perfect example of local businesses working closely together, making an impact and helping each other to grow. I’d urge others to try and keep things local.”

Richard Manser, managing director of 5 Star Windows and Conservatories added: “The ability to work closely with another local business can have huge benefits in the long-term. Our relationship with Susan and the team is first-class as we’ve invested time in understanding each other’s business.

“It’s a special relationship that will soon reach 20 years. To me that’s unique in today’s marketplace, but Wyre Forest needs more businesses to be doing the same. It’s amazing how much talent and specialisms we have in the area.”

Minster Micro has more than 40 years’ experience of supporting a range of businesses and sectors. 5 Star Windows and Conservatories are one of the largest home improvement companies in the region, supplying a range of windows, doors, conservatories, roofing and outdoor living accessories.
